Amanda Bossard, fresh out from Anchorage High School 1992 started studying marine biology in 1992. Bossard began her profession as a commercial fish worker in the year 1999. Bossard began working at the vessel F/V Sunset which was a 65' halibut schooner that was turned into a tender for salmon for Murat Aritan. She worked as a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard is currently is married to Aritan and the couple has come together to prove their claim to the market. Both of them are the direction of preserving resources and maximising profits. Otolith is an independent wholesale distributor of seafood founded within Philadelphia in 2007, by a now-mother of two children, Bella aged 3, and Andre one year old. In 2007, Bossard mother to two kids Bella, age 3, and Andre 1 and returning to Philadelphia from her native Canada opened otolith as a wholesale direct market seafood distributor. Bossard's children Isabella, age 12, and son Andre 10 visit each year for a visit to Southeast Alaska to work in the deckhand role during wild salmon season. For two months, Bossard, along with her daughter Isabella will use hooks and lines to hunt for their desired salmon. Aritan will then sell their seafood to local processors.
